Overview of the Event
The Common Room is an informal early-evening networking event for UK university alumni - a community of professionals who share the common experience of studying in the UK. This gathering offers a relaxed yet purposeful atmosphere to connect with professionals, entrepreneurs, like-minded individuals and expand your professional network.
You can expect a diverse group of participants, generally professionals across industries, from early-career to seasoned executives, (tech, finance, consulting, academia, entrepreneurship, etc.). Participants have global mindsets and roles that involve international work, business, investment, and entrepreneurship.

Shruti Kharbanda - Accomplished Alumni
Shruti Kharbanda is a Woman in STEM, serial entrepreneur, and autonomous operations advisor with over 26 years of global experience across India, Europe, the US, and the UK. She helps organisations transition to AI-powered, self-governing operations.
In 2017, she founded a luxury wearable-tech startup and achieved a successful in just 18 months. Today, she leads a robotics and AI venture focused on humanoids for defence and hazardous industries.
Shruti serves as the Robotics & AI Chairperson at the Indian Chamber of Commerce (Northern Region) and is a member of the CII Startup Committee. She also mentors startups through Startup India.
An advocate for ethical AI and tech innovation, she is the visionary behind the Invincible Robo League—India’s first robotics sports league.
Shruti holds a Bachelor’s in Computer Science, a Postgraduate in Global Business, and an Executive MBA from the University of Oxford.
Abhinav Chadha - City Host (2025), Delhi
Abhinav graduated from the University of Birmingham in 2019 with a Master’s degree in Strategic Management and is currently employed by global consulting firm as a Senior Associate within the UK Bid Management team.
He appreciates the fact that he is still able to leverage and apply learnings from his time in the UK at his job in various ways which brings value to the organisation and his role. Abhinav is an active member of the community, loves organising events and your city host for Delhi.
